ALICIA WAY PRIMER

Meet Alicia Way (nee Simmons).

On November 6th 1985, Alicia Simmons was born to Steve and Kathy Simmons in an adorably tiny city in Missouri called Grain Valley (Pop: ~15 000).

This is her father:

"TO KNOW ME IS TO KNOW ME. LETS TALK PERFERABLY AFTER I HAVE HAD AT LEAST 7 HOURS OF SLEEP. I PLAY IN A CLASSIC ROCK BAND CALLED THE ROADMASTERS. GETTING OLDER SUCKS BUT IM GOING DOWN FIGHTING ALL THE WAY. NEVER TRUST ANYONE OVER 60. DAMN IT USED TO BE 30.. WHAT HAPPENED TO ME?"

What a winner, that Steve. The Roadmasters are beyond hysterical, by the way, look them up if you need to get your jollies on.

I don't know why there are none of her mother, sorry. I think maybe after the divorce she spent more time with him? No clue. She also doesn't seem to exist on the internet, unless she reverted to her maiden name, which is likely, but i have no clue what that is so I can't track her down. OH WELL.

So Grain Valley! There's a pool, a couple parks... And not much else. She spent a lot of time with her half-brother, Dakota, after her parents' divorce and her father's remarriage. so Alicia was introduced to the world of backstage really, really young, thanks to ~THE ROADMASTERS; she spent her free time, of which she had plenty, teaching herself to play 932574 instruments. She joined her school's marching band and jazz band, and they because a big part of her high school experience~.

Yeah, I know.

In her own words:

"While she was already hooked on music, it was the concert that her older brother Peter took her to at the age of 12-- a Metallica show that changed everything. One night is all it took for Alicia to immediately become obsessed with anything and everything heavy metal and the thought of being in, or working for a band. She started spending every possible moment plastering her walls, and spreading the gospel of heavy metal and rock music to anyone who would, and wouldn't, listen.

Annoying every single family member, teacher, and even friends to death with useless talk of how two different Metallica song's guitar riffs were just barely one note different, and what Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue was REALLY thinking when he was playing the 32nd note of the 5th song on the 2nd record. And as soon as she could, Alicia spent every possible weekend traveling as far as four hours from home (alone) to go to as many shows as she could, much to her father and step mother Paula's dismay."

That's right. As that last passage made clear... Alicia was nothing but a music-obsessed RAVING FUCKING FANGIRL like you and I. Travelling for shows, dissecting the minds of the bands she idolized... She probably wrote fanfiction. Did you know Metallica has a huge slash fic community? I'm telling you, I'm sure she dabbled. Imagine how uncomfortable that makes Mikey now. Imagine it.

Ahahahahahahaha.

Anyway, so Alicia got hooked on metal and hardcore, wallpapered her bedroom with pictures of Kirk Hammet, and eventually... met Sarah Dope!

This is Sarah Dope (AKA Sarah Suvan):

They became pretty much inseparable after they met, and also total enablers of each other's dorky music obsessions. They did everything they could to get to shows, driving each other, hitching with bands as merch girls, whatever. They did just about every behind-the-scenes work someone could do, and all over the midwest: they were fill-ins, techs, merch sellers, gear-haulers, and worked with labels trying to get new bands some exposure. Everyone was massively impressed. Their networking skills, in particular, began to shine.

Eventually, they did come to a (brief! short!) falling out, curing which time both their careers charged forward in leaps and bounds. When they finally did reconnect, they agreed it was pm the best thing that ever happened to them.

Alicia's toured with pretty much every band ever. Her employers include Avenged Sevenfold, Evanescence, Straylight Run, Rancid, Slipknot, 30 Seconds To Mars, From First To Last and yeah, Fall Out Boy. On said tours, she's lived and worked along side other big names like Finger Eleven, Something Corporate, The Academy is..., Armor for Sleep, Silverstein and Gym Class Heroes. Yeah, that's right, EVERYONE EVER. She's worked with pretty much every bandom band, plus she was on Warped a ime or two, which means she's also lived and worked with all of these people. Okay, not all, check the dates. But a FUCKTON of people.

Also, this happened:

"i will also admit i was a huge Kittie fan (weren't we all? hahaha)... i used to have this kittie necklace i wore everyday of my life for years. Then years later, i got a random email from the drummer of the band on Myspace asking me to come try out on guitar in a matter of DAYS up in canada at their expense... a few phone calls and ONE day later and i was in a plane. i had to re-learn every Kittie song in ONE night. i didn't get the gig, but i'm proud to say it was a very close call and they went w/ their close friend of 4 years, lisa."

LOL HER LIFE.

"Whats it like being a girl on Warped Tour?
its probably the hardest thing any human can go through. its the most grueling thing ever. everyday seems like the worst one yet. i don't really recommend it to many people. sure its all fine and dandy you get to hang out w/ soooo many bands in the parking lot at the end of the night, and some of those people will be people you REALLY look up to and cant even believe you have the opportunity to MEET them, but honestly, you are more concerned about being in your bus in the air conditioning or taking a shower than giving two shits about who's hanging out where and on what bus. trust me, its not all fun and games. at all. being a girl out there is even more hard... you gotta be tough, alot of dudes and chicks are lonely on that tour, and are all about summer lovin and 90% of girls on the tour end up seeing someone by the end its a LONG 3 mths to spend alone. (its natural ppl, your gonna put 60 girls w/ 600 guys, good luck staying single even if it is a summer fling) but ill tell you straight up... if you stay to yourself the whole tour and just befriend everyone and not hook up w/ anyone... at the end of the tour, everyone and their mom wants to be your best friend and you'll get 385734085 job offers. think of it as the ultimate test. its tough, and alot of days you need a shoulder to cry on. yes, CRY. but if you ever end up on warped... stay strong and it pays off."

Pretty sweet. With bad grammar. But that was three years ago, and her grammar seems to have improved. WEIRD.

Other things to know: Alicia is addicted to history and the natural world, watches home improvement shows and the Discovery channel (and all its offshoots: Biography, History) religiously, is into Japanese culture and speaks the language, loooooves animals, has bad taste in fashion but good taste in men, and loves building things with her hands. As does Mikey, incidentally. But you never pictured them bonding over handmade jewelry and carpentry, did you? Nuh-uh.

So these songs were compiled on a theme; part one is basically about how fucked up the world is, and part two is (equivalent to her part three) and is about how we deal with it. Travis is the poor man's Coldplay, and they're so wonderfully sweet. I have more to recommend to you, but it's unrelated to this playlist.

Say Anything - Marianas Trench. I can take it if you need to take this out on someone. Not a happy song. It's more about helping someone by suffering in their place than it is about actually helping someone heal, but it's an amazing song, and it's really emotive. It's from an album called Fix Me.
Jumper - Third Eye Blind. I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend / You could cut ties with all the lies that youve been living in. This song is one of my earliest musical memories; I remember hearing this song when it came out when I was like eight or nine and not understanding what it was about, and then I grew up and heard it again and realized that one of the most beautiful songs I'd ever heard was about talking someone out of suicide. And I, I want you to know / Everyones got to face down the demons / Maybe today / You could put the past away.
Fast Car - Tracy Chapman. I just realized that I didn't actually have this song on my iTunes, so I went and downloaded it just now. It's beautiful, soulful, miserable and joyful. It's about the girl in the song escaping her miserable life and driving away, just driving away, to a better life. And I had a feeling that I belonged / And I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone. Also, Better Than Ezra covered it and that's worth a listen, too.
Good & Broken - Hannah Montana. We are broken chains, yeah, good and broken. This song is actually less about fixing someone or ignoring the fucked-upness in the world and more about ...embracing it, and learning to love the good that there is in the world. Which makes it actually the most mature, empowering song on this list, I sometimes feel. The last chorus is just her singing "we can, we can, we can," over and over... PLUS, DANCE RHYTHMS!!1!1!!1! M1L3Y I LUV YEWWWWW!1!11!!!1!1!

I HOPE THESE SONGS HAVE AS MUCH MEANING TO YOU AS THEY DID TO ME.

Oh, and: How To Save A Life - The Fray. I can't really put this on the list, because it's not miserable and it's not happy, but this song is kind of exactly what I went through that kick-started my whole... journey. I don't know. I can't actually listen to it, because I sort of have panic attacks when I think about it too much (even the lyrics just now made me seize up), but it's a really good song and I found it really powerful. I don't know if it'll have any meaning to you whatsoever, considering it doesn't have much to do with you. But, I dunno, it's a good song anyway. Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend / Somewhere along in the bitterness / And I would have stayed up with you all night / Had I known how to save a life.

OKAY SO.

I read an amazing fic yesterday. It was well-written and lovely both in phrasing and in sentiment; you rooted for the good guys and cursed the band ones. It was all in all, wonderful.

But it had an unhappy ending.

So I left a comment about how much I adored it, along with my usual rant about unhappy endings. Sam and Ess in particular will be familiar with my woes on the subject.

It included this question, albeit jokingly: "WHY DO ALL THE GOOD WRITERS HAVE TO TORTURE THEIR CHARACTERS SO MUCH? ;_; WHAT DID THEY EVER DO TO YOU?"

The author (the wonderful ourgossip_lips, by the way. And the fic in question is this) responded as such, which seems to be basically the default answer: "THE TORTURE IS WHAT MAKES IT ~FUN. And... I don't want to say "real," because that is very woe-is-the-world, and I try not to be like that, but seriously? Woe is the world. It had to be sad lol."

To which I replied: ";_; i pity the fool who finds happiness in misery, if you don't mind me quoting liberally from both Pete Wentz and Mr. T. If you're doing it for realism, then it's art. If you're doing it for fun, then it's still just fanfiction. And if it's art, then why use characters that already exist? Why make ~~living people suffer in the minds of author and audience? Why not create fictional characters that reflect the world in which we live through metaphor? And hey, loads of people in small towns have happy endings. It's not like every single couple is miserable, so who's to say it's "realistic"? Possible, yes. More realistic than a happy ending? No. And let's assume that everyone has both misery and joy in their lives, which is a pretty fair assumption, in my opinion. Why choose to write about the misery and not the joy? Of course, small amounts of misery make for good plot; there is now an obstacle to overcome. And little doses or misery make the joy all the more sweet. But stories that ~end miserabley? I simply don't see the point, besides that the author 1) would rather watch other suffer to make themselves feel happier, 2) is miserable themselves and would rather bring others down to their level, in text if not in life or 3) doesn't understand that there is joy in life, and that happy endings are possible. And in that final case, the author should seek help, if they are not already receiving it."

And then I told her that this all has nothing to do with her and I am gonna post this in my journal because this is really, really not directed at her. I only mentioned her name because the fic was LOVELY and you should all go read it.

I'm leaving this public so she can see it, if she cares to look.

TL;DR IF I'M GIVEN THE CHOICE TO THINK ABOUT HAPPY OR SAD THINGS, WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE SAD THINGS? WHAT BENEFIT IS THERE BESIDES SADISM AND FURTHER MISERY?

So, I had this idea today.

And it's a little radical, even for me.

But, like, I was talking to secrethitmen about this a week or two ago, and it's really the only time I've properly expressed my views about this whole appearance, thing, so brace for tl;dr.

So everyone's like "BLAH BLAH BLAH I HATE HOW PEOPLE JUDGE BASED ON APPEARANCES", but what do we ever do about it? We whine and moan about how we hate those girls who wear so much make-up and get fake tans and bleach their hair and then we go off and dress all alternative. But what are we really doing? We're spending just as much time and money on our appearances, sometimes more because we're putting so much effort into making a statement, and besides, aren't we actually judging those girls based on the way they dress? Isn't that a little hypocritical?

Of course, yes, often they do behave in a way that makes us all hate them in addition to looking a certain way, so we're not totally guilty here. But if you have the option of hanging out with two strangers, one with a fake tan and a bad dye job and one with a lip ring and a Clandestine hoodie, who would you choose? It's pretty obvious, bandom girls. We're all guilty of it, and that includes me.

So this summer I got sick of it.

I got sick as being pegged as the 'alternative one', sick of people assuming what my opinions were before they asked. People assume all kinds of things about me- that I'm gay, that I'm an Obama supporter, that I listen to certain types of music, that I hate certain other people. Sometimes they're right, but often they're not, and I was pretty much alone the whole summer, going shopping twice a week at used clothing stores in Nova Scotia. Left to my own devices, I discovered some parts of myself that I knew I'd lose touch with when I got back to my city life and all it entails: the people, the attitudes, the environment. But I just didn't like the idea of gaining this knowledge about who I really was and then just ignoring it so I could keep doing what I was doing before. It wasn't fair to myself, and I have enough trust and faith in my true friends that they'd love me anyway, even if I did some stuff they thought was weird.

So I started dressing ugly.

I don't mean "different" I abandonned my skinny jeans and my black hoodies, my eyeshadow and my band t-shirts. Anything that made me look like a fan of a particular band- out. You shouldn't look at me and know I like Cobra Starship of Fall Out Boy, because that knowledge is tainted. People have a set of ideas associated with those bands- I wear my band shirts rarely now. Anything that should political affiliation- out. I didn't want anyone to "know" me by looking at me. If they wanted to get to know who I was and what I liked and what I stood for, they'd have to actually fucking talk to me. Shocking, right?

And that's how I started my first weeks of college. Dressed in a huge grey hoodie I got for free and black sweatpants.

I didn't abandon everything I loved, because I loved these things, and part of this rebirth was staying true to myself without influences. I like black eyeliner, dammit, and I'm going to keep wearing black eyeliner.

So, in a world of snap judgments and shallow ideas, the only way I feel I can be true to myself most days is by being ugly. I'd rather have very few friends who got to know my because they saw that I was smart, friendly and loyal than an army of friends who talk to me because I dress like Pete Wentz or Gabe Saporta.

There is a reason I'm bringing this up now and not two months ago when I started living how I feel. See, this morning, my friend Nikki told me that the girl who was shaving her head for breast cancer at my school chickened out, and now they have no-one to do it.

And I was like, hey. The world's been good to me this past couple of weeks. And even when it hasn't been, I've learned to see the beauty in all these human beings around me, because I'm not looking at age or clothing anymore. I'm looking at eyes and mouths and posture, and I've realized that it's so, so rare to see a truly ugly person. People are beautiful. The world is beautiful.

And it's totally a shame that a single person should be robbed of the world's beauty, or that the world should be robbed of a single person's beauty, for any reason.

And dude, I wear a hat all winter anyway, indoors and out. And I own a nice wig. So if I shave my head and it's ugly, who cares? I'll be ugly. I can be ugly. I am comfortable with being ugly. If I can help one person hang on just a little bit longer to how beautiful the world is, then it's worth the ugliness. It totally, totally is, and I completely believe it with my whole heart. Plus, even if I'm ugly, I'll have the beauty in my heart of knowing I did something good for the right reasons- not for attention, but because I want to help the world and because I am one of the few people out there who are totally comfortable at the thought of losing my hair, because I have no personal investment in it.

...And that's why I'm shaving my head for breast cancer!

Time for yet another round of Unpopular Fandom Opinions! Prepare to disagree with me, or come clean about your long-lingering guilty hatred.

Okay, now: I take my fic seriously. I like character change and development, I like that there are English majors writing this shit, I plot and drive and motivation and all that. I also like goofiness. I like crack and whatnot as much as the next half-mindless fangirl, because crack is hilarious and enjoyable. So I don't mind if a fic is lacking in all that serious stuff, too.

But one thing that I stick to in terms of standards: fic is still writing. There are fic authors from other fandoms that have gone on to actually publish (non-fandom) novels, and I think this is great. Fic isn't only practice for more serious writing, but it is still writing, and I think when it comes to actual novels I read, the only good ones are the ones that stand up as a decent read outside of their genre. War novels? Make sure they have more than just tactics. Romance novels? More than just purple sex. Sci-fi? More than just jargon and aliens. They should all have realistic characters, smart plots and (most importantly, to me) be written in a voice that is approachable to readers of every genre.

I hate when fic doesn't.

Fic can be fun if it doesn't follow those guidelines -you can write a two-dimensional Ritalin kid Brendon and still your fic can make readers laugh out loud, or make it set in outer space where Pete Wentz grow tentacles spontaneously but still have realistic character relationships- but unless it is written in a voice that a reader outside of the genre (see: your mom, or your irl best friend who you've never told) could still enjoy. I just don't think that fics written in fic!voice can ever be really good, just enjoyable.

Like, saying that Spencer Smith is made of rainbows and sunshine would simply not pass for accurate, rounded character description in a widely published novel. Not to say I don't chuckle when I read that- just, I think in my head, does this person know how to write, or are they just copying fandom trends? Could they write anything good outside of this genre?

Okay, if you still don't know what I mean by fic!voice, here is a list of words and phrases that I wish could be banned from bandom and reintroduced only when everyone understands that it is possible to write without them. Then they can be used again, once the authors have the power to write without them or with them. Anyway, my list, and feel free to add your own:

It makes me lose respect for you as an author because I have no proof that you can actually write! Call Spencer Smith totally awesome because he gives birth to rainbows and kitten when he smiles, just make sure that you also write solid plots, believable characters, and at least a few sentnces that could be taken seriously by an outsider. I'll chuckle along, and I'll still know you can write.

It'll be. Like. Totally awesome.

So, some of my flist is into really, really great music. It's varied, it's cosmopolitan, it's everything from poppy to angry and back. Some of you, however, have really feeble taste in music. Not your fault! You just haven't been exposed to the right stuff. Maybe your moms and dads only ever listened to Lionel Richie, idk.

BUT I AM HERE TO FIX THAT.

My newest project is called Music You've Never Heard Of, and I'm about to open your minds. Cool? Cool.

Let's start with Winterkids.

Winterkids is a five-piece from a town in England called Peaslake, which they rep hardcore. It's known for such wonderful and exciting sights as Pitch Hill, the fifth highest peak in Surrey. Peaslake is in their top MySpace friends, and also opens their music video for Tape It. They've been compared to everyone from the Buzzcocks to Franz Ferdinand to Pulp to Kaiser Chiefs. They got their name because all five members were born in the winter.

Their five members are:

James Snider (vocals & guitar) - He's like if Trace Cyrus was in Panic at the Disco. Knows how to say "protractor" in German.

Hello from sunny Florida. We are probably more like 5000 miles (?) away from home...but the title seemed relevant since it's the name of a new track from the upcoming album!
This week has mostly been about seeing family, however, we did manage to spend a day with Mickey and Minnie too.
It was good...but not as exciting as I remember it being last time we visited. Although to be fair, last time Hannah and I graced the 'Magical Kingdom', I was about 4 feet tall and Hannah regularly wet the bed.

I love them. LOVE THEM.

omfg any time James appears with tea, I laugh. That moment at 1:43 when he drinks tea really intensely and then abruptly ends it to sing? I LOL EVERY TIME, IDK. The stare at the camera at 2:28 is pretty good, too.

Chris declared himself the best cook in the band, and they decided to have a cook-off. Pwnage ensued.

GABE IS A JEW.

Or, Gabe Is A Jew, A Miniprimer.

Part One: The Superficial Evidence.

AKA some pictures that make it obvious if you know how to recognize the symptoms.

First and foremost, there's the Jewfro. His Jewfro was way Jewfroier than Trohman's is, because Trohman's is just big and kind curly. Gabe had some serious volume goin' on back in the day:

Anyway. Also, despite being only half Sphardic and being born in Uruguay, Gabe is a fuckin' Moroccan. Now, now offense is meant to any Jewish Moroccan boys who read this, but you all look exactly the same. You all wear the same sneakers, have the same haircut, and wear the same coats and jewelery. Which is to say, you look like this:

OH MR. SAPORTA. YOU CRACK ME UP. lol, anyone in the Jewish community will immediately know what I mean. HUGE FUCKING SPHARDI, RIGHT? I would like to point out that Gabe is to Judaism how Travis is to race- he's a half-breed, so to speak, and a lot of the time people like that are forced to pick a side. Are you Sphardic, or Ashkenaz? I think it's pretty clear what he chose in the end.

And so, now that we've established that Gabe looks like a Jew, let's take a look at some thing he does (without explicitly stating the words "I am a Jew") to display his identity.

Part Two: Dispute This, Assholes.

First of all, there's the Magen David necklace. I can't find a very clear photo of it (tell me if you've found one, please!) but out of the clearer photos I found, I chose this one because it's 1) kinda famous and easily recognisable and 2) FUCKING HOT.

And one of my favorite repeated-wear items that Gabe owns: THE CHAI BELT BUCKLE.

No, not chai, like the tea. "Chai", like the Hebrew word for life, a common Jewish good luck symbol. We wear it on necklaces, earrings, bracelets. It's value according to Jewish numerology is eighteen, which lead to the practice of giving monetary gifts for special occasions such as bar mitzvahs and weddings in denominations of eighteen. You can say you "gave chai" when you give $18 or that you "gave double chai" when you give $36. Common riffs on this include $180 and $360 for more generous gift-givers.

Part Three: Quotes and Other Obvious Actions.

So, uh, yes. As if that last picture didn't clear it up for all you goyim (that means non-Jews, by the way. SERIOUSLY, you guys, oy vey), here's a little family history, as described by AP magazine's Brendan Manley:

Anyway, I can't find the quote where he states it, but he's said he went to private school a bunch of times. It was actually a Jewish private school, because it was the only place that would take him free of tuition. SOME BACKGROUND BEFORE THE NEXT VIDEO: Gabe, for anyone that may not know, is a closet genius. More on that here, if you're interested. /shameless self-promotion. He majored in Political Science and Philosophy in University (AND MANAGED A 4.0 GPA). He's also a strict vegetarian. So, basically an all-around Good Jewish Boy, as our bubbies and zaydies would say, and a terrific dude.

He's also a strong supporter of PETA (I know, I know. I know what you're thinking. Me too, whatever). He's worked with them numerous times, but I'm not gonna get into all that now. Maybe I'll do a "Gabe Is A VeggieHead!" miniprimer some other time.

Point of note is at about 1:50. Transcribed myself, and it's hard to hear, so bear with me. He's prone to, us. Run on sentences. Ugh.

When your grandkids ask 'What were you doing during the animal holocaust?" what are you goann be able to say? And that's really true, like, some German kids, who's parents were, like, not sympathizers with the Nazis themselves but just didn't do anything to stop it. And the kids are just completely ashamed and embarrassed that they didn't do anything to stop it, and, like, that was the situation with the Jews because they thought they were a different race that was lower than us and they used them for lampshades and soap and stuff like that. And then we realized that's wrong. And now I think we're at the point, I think, where we're expanding our compassion to include human- to include, yeah, things that are not of our species but still have characteristics that entitle them to rights of life."

While I do think that the comparison between Jews and animals is a little bit radical, I see his point. Also, for all you Yiddisher kinder out there with inquiring minds, this puts him firmly in the catagory of "the wicked son", passover-wise. It is the self-exclusion, ("What does this service mean to you?") that makes the wicked son wicked. Gabe is describing the events as if they did not occur to him or even his own people, but to some other people. Go figure.

Judaism comes up a lot in interviews with him, actually. My personal favorite context for bringing up the fact that he's Jewish is the following:

OS: If you had to lick condiments off each member of Fall Out Boy's body, what would you choose and why?
Gabe: Different condiments for each person?

OS: Yeah. Joe's has to be kosher, and Andy's has to be vegan, too?
Gabe: Pete, I know. Pete would be spicy brown honey mustard, because he's spicy and sweet [laughs] Patrick, uh?.
Vicky-T: HP sauce.
Gabe: What's HP sauce?
Vicky-T: It's so good! It's an amazing British sauce. Sweet but like, savoury?

Gabe: I think Patrick would be soy sauce, you know. He's very fair, a quiet dude, smooth. It'd be a nice contrast. Slide off really nicely. Joe Trohman would have to be... what's a Jewish condiment? [long pause] I'm Jewish. I should know Jewish condiments?

OS: So should I?
Gabe: Are you Jewish? What's that thing we use at Passover that's like this horseradish sauce? I think it's called...

OS: Yeah, I just call it horseradish sauce.
Gabe: Okay, horseradish sauce. So horseradish sauce for Joe because you use it at Passover. And uh, Andy Hurley? I'd have to use just straight up ketchup because he's like, all-American.
Vicky-T: Yeah.

For the record, it's called maror (THANK YOU, pandorathene). But whatever, GABE ILU.

Also, Gabe is a true-blue Jew and peppers his speech with Yiddishisms (See? He's only half Sphardic, guys!) In his epic 25 page response to Elisa's public discussion of her dismissal, He included the following phrase:

"...and she has refused to agree on a way of exiting that would have been graceful for both parties. And therefore now I have to type up this whole megillah. Oy vey!"

OY VEY, INDEED. HE HAD TO TYPE UP THAT WHOOOOOLE MEGILLAH.

Anyway, now you know that Gabe's a Jew.

Bonus lolz, though! Gabe getting punched in the face by none other than his beautiful friend Tyler Rann, back in Midtown. Gabe accidently cracked Tyler's head open in a Trohman-like bass swing (it's a Jew thing) and this was Tyler's planned revenge. In two parts!
